In-home newborn photoshoots are a deeply meaningful experience for me as a photographer. There’s something truly magic about capturing those quiet, intimate moments in the comfort of a family’s own space. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing Rad, Olu, and their 3 month old daughter Atarah in their new Melbourne home, having recently moved from England. Watching them embrace their new life as parents in a new country was incredibly special and really felt like they were always meant to be exactly here and as a three.
The beauty of in-home newborn photography lies in its raw, unfiltered emotion. It’s about documenting those little, everyday moments that tell the story of a family’s life – the gentle rhythms of feeding, cuddling, and settling into life with a newborn. Capturing these memories within the walls of their home adds an extra layer of personal connection to the photos.
If you're expecting or know someone who is, I highly recommend an in-home newborn session. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate the first chapter of your baby’s life in a way that is natural, meaningful, and true to your family’s journey.
